About Healthy Minds at Work
Absence from work due to stress, anxiety and depression is a major problem for public and private sector employers. Mental health issues cause thousands of people in Wales sign onto Incapacity Benefit every year. Healthy Minds at Work (HMAW) was established in September 2005 to tackle this major economic and social issue.
HMAW is a £5 million European initiative supported by the European Social Fund EQUAL Programme and administered by the Welsh Assembly Government Funding Office (WEFO). It is led by disability employment specialist Remploy.
Through its partnerships with more than 50 organisations in Wales, HMAW has been working to develop a range of new approaches to help to improve the well-being of employees.
We provide an impartial, voluntary and confidential approach to finding solutions that prevent people with mental health issues from leaving their jobs - when they are both able and motivated to work.
